Hello everyone! Finally I'm able to find sometime to do a post on my trip to California! I am writing this post on my nifty iPad so I apologize for any mistakes/lack of pictures. You know how much I love pictures.
I guess one of the most memorable parts of my trip so far was my own personal detour trip to Los Angeles to see Green Eyes and Waves. I will say that Green Eyes is not much of an early riser so my 7:50am flight into LaX did not help him much. I'm not gonna lie I was slightly afraid this kid was gonna show up 2/3 hours late to come and get me from the airport. He was only 30 min late and I can't complain since we blamed it on the LA traffic (something I don't think I fully experienced in this trip). I was supposed to be staying with waves while on the this trip, but because he was working we weren't goons meet up with him until later on that night. Which meant I got to spend the whole day with my bestest friend haha. He ended up driving me to Hermosa beach and we had breakfast at this cute little place on the beach. In would compare this place to what we have in the east coast...ihop, but you know on the beach. Breakfast was great! After breakfast we decided to walk along the boardwalk at Hermosa beach while Green Eyes showed me the famous spots and what not. We also got to walk along the pier where we got to see all of the fishermen doing their early fishing. Before going on this trip my uncle had told me not to go into the water in LA because the oceans there are so dirty...I suggested to Green Eyes that we should go in the water and he looked at me like I just asked him the dumbest question in history. I thought maybe it was a black people thing and he just didnt go into the water. He had two reasons...1) the water is freezing and 2) the water is dirty. We also found out that the water had sharks in it after we saw one of the fishermen catch a shark. Scary. Sooo I guess we weren't going in the water. So we left Hermosa beach and headed down to Venice beach which is where waves lives in the first place. We walked half the beach and saw the entire population of crazy people in the united states in this entire area. I think what shocked me the most at Venice was the number of medical evaluations for medicinal marijuana they had. Every block had at least 2 evaluation sites. Basically you can walk in describe the symptoms you have that usually can get treated with pot and BAM you can buy pot. Also the entire boardwalk in Venice smells like pot. It doesn't get any better than that. You don't even need the stuff to get high, just hang around there for a couple hours and you're good to go.
We also walked the pier in Venice and saw more fishermen. We also saw another shark hanging upside down from the railing bleeding with it's jaw completely cut off. Green Eyes looked at me and just said yeah that's why we don't go in the water here. After walking around Venice for an hour Green Eyes got a call that his boys were playing pick up and that he should go. H didn't wanna go since I was with him but I told him he shouldn't let me being there affect his working out in the off-season. I'm actually kind of happy we went to play pick-up because first of all they played at the Home Depot center which is where the LA Galaxy play their MLS games. And second of all I got to meet two pro professional NBA players. Crazzyyy! I would ut their names on here, but I don't think that's such a good idea. After pick up, I wanted to see where Green Eyes grew up and I wanted to see his house. So we drove over to his beautiful hometown of Cypress so that he could clean up/shower. While there, his mom came home and she talked to me for a little bit and then said that because I've done so much for her son these past two years, she wanted to take me out to lunch, but before that the best part of whole encounter was she asked me if Green Eyes showed me his room (what makes this story awkward is that I wanted to stay with Green Eyes, but I wasn't allowed to because she usually...well never allows girls to stay over at their house) and I nodded my head "yes" and she freaked out that he had showed me his room when it was soo messy. She sent him to clean his room up on the spot. It's was hilarious. Anyways, so she took us out to lunch to get Thai food. For those of you who know me all too well, you would know that I am the pickiest eater alive, and Thai food is definitely not one of the foods i go for on the spot. But that's right, I sucked it up and set what was pretty good Thai food.
After eating Thai, we decided to drive back to Venice beach and walk the other half of the boardwalk. GOD I LOVE THE BEACH AND BOARDWALK! After walking around for a good half a mile or so, we decided to walk on the sand by the ocean. I did try again to get him in the water, but I failed epically. Are you sure it's not a black people thing? We laid a towel on the sand and watched the sunset. Cute right? We also watched the surfers, hoping for one of them to have a massive wipeout. After starting to freeze our asses off, we decided to walk back, but we quickly got distracted by the skateboarders at the skate park on the beach. We watched them for about 30 min or so hoping for one of them to have a massive wipeout.
At this point, after leaving, Waves was finally ready to meet up with us! We went and picked him up from the hair cut joint and drove to his place. On our way to his house, we found out that a friend of Waves was having a birthday dinner and all three of us were going. Good thing I brought going out clothes...not really. We got dressed and went to this nice ass restaurant located right next to a runway for small airplanes. Let me tell you this place was so expensive! And I mean you can always tell a place is expensive when they've got frog legs, crickets, and scorpions on the menu. Nasty! After meeting Waves' friends, at the end of dinner the boys decided we were gonna go out to a club in Malibu. Let's take a quick second to imagine a tiny little Persian girl walking into a club with about four tall ass basketball playing black guys...can't be real. This place was not only in Malibu, but it was right on the beach. And it was PACKED! When we arrived around 11, the line was huge. That wasn't a problem though because we ended up literally cutting everyone and their mother in the line to get in in a record breaking time of 10 minutes. Once inside, the place was crazy. I would say there were about 300 people there. One of Waves' friends bought us a table and from there we all just started drinking. That's about all I am going to comment on about the night. I have never seen so many sluts before in my life.
Green Eyes and I crashed in Waves living room, and the following morning we were treated to a great McDonalds breakfast, compliments of Waves' mom. After breakfast, the boys took me to Santa Monica where we walked around the shopping district, followed by a walk on the pier. After hanging around there for a little, Waves took us to his favorite Chinese food joint. We had lunch, and then went to back to the house because Green Eyes had to leave us. We crashed for a little, and then Waves took me to Hollywood! Now that was a sweet drive. We drove all over Beverly Hills and we even walked a couple blocks on Rodeo Drive...if only I was filthy rich...we also drove along the Hollywood blvd which was amazing. I got to see the stars on the ground, Mann's Chinese Theater, the Kodak Theater and all that jazz. I think the highlight was driving on Westwood which basically should be called Persian Street. If I ever need to find myself a Persian husband, Westwood would be the street to find him.
That's about it for my trip to LA. The boys both told me before I came, that I wasn't ready for LA, and I think they were right. There's just wayy too much to see and two days is not enough time to see it. But I will say that all it took was 2 days for me to fall in love with LA, and when I go back next year I'll definitely be staying for at least a week.
